Find or purchase thread which fits the thread that the other buttons for the garment are sewn.
Unroll some thread through the spool, put it with the eye in the needle. Cut the thread to ensure that it is more about 12 inches long. Tie the two loose ends together in the knot. The thread should certainly be from the needle and tied to make a loop.Hold the button about the garment where it must be sewn.
